What are your credentials/stats/rankings in your sponsored sport?
World Cup 2006: 3rd , Brits 2006: Silver, Santa Cruz 2007: Gold….leading the way in aerial maneuvers

When did you start the sport, how and with who?
I started sea kayaking at the age of 8 and developed most of my skills with the Guernsey Canoe Club. At the age of 16 I became an instructor and working in Scotland, discovered the thrills of rivers!...after a few years creeking in Wales I eventually made it back home and started to fine-tune my quiver for surf kayaking. At the time I was the only surf kayaker on Guernsey and so looked to short board surfers and wave-ski videos for inspiration. My first competition was in Jersey in 2002 and I didn’t do very well but I found a competitive beast within and went from strength to strength, competing at higher and higher levels.

Most memorable moment in your sport?
Pulling my first aerial, winning at Santa Cruz, breaking my nose on a heavy break in Biarritz!

What is your favourite piece of Nookie kit?

Surf deck

What are your favourite features /reason it’s your favourite piece of kit?
I can trust it not to pop and so feel confident going for big moves

What are your plans over the next 12 months?
To continue to develop, promote and drive the sport forward. I want to keep pushing the limits of the sport and achieve more top results at national and international competitions.

What other interest do you have, sports or otherwise?

Climbing, mountaineering, sailing, windsurfing…any outdoor adrenalin sports!

Whats your training regime?
Surf….surf….surf! Generally surfing is the best training but also keeping fit through a variety sports is really important to me.

What makes you good at your sport?
Thinking outside the box…going for new moves and being prepared to take beatdowns to get there!

Advice for others?
Just get on the water and have fun…it can be 2ft or 20 ft but there’s always plenty to do!
