When did you start the sport, how and with who?
That was at the Age of 12. A teacher of a schoolcamp was a kayaker and i wanted to try a new sport, so i asked him if i could try canoeing once. Now we are best friends...

Most memorable moment in your sport?
No idea, thousands. Sometimes around the campfire i remember these moments. Thats a good feeling.

What is your favourite piece of Nookie kit?
Definitely the Rivermonster. It has got all the important safety kits, gives you a lot of free space for the arms and body and looks very cool

What have you been up to lately?
I have been to Chile this year, paddling with some friends for 3 months, Recently returned from a successful trip with the Austrian team where we completed the descent with ski and kayaks from the 8125 metre high Nanga Parpat in Pakistan. In Spring i paddled also many extreme kayak competitions and had a lot of fun in Switzerland. Maybe Summer in Norway and next winter in New Zealand. Between my trips i work for my money as a Carpenter

What other interests do you have, sports or otherwise?
It's all about the sports: Ski, snowboard, skate, climb, mountain bike, and for sure travel around the world too. Meet new people, different cultures and countries.

Where is your favourite place in the world?
Always where i am at the moment...

What makes you good at your sport?
When you run a river in a kayak, its a team sport. I've always got an eye for the other paddlers, can show them the line or help them, and i can always make my own decision if i can run the rapid or not. i don't think about the cameras which are pointing at me. That helps me a lot to stay alive on the river.

What advice do you have for others to get into the sport?
Its more than only a sport. sleep outside, make campfire, travel around the world, explore new rivers, have fun on a wave or push your limit with a high drop. this is all part of the kayak lifestyle. Go kayaking and you know what i mean.
